Dragonsquatch and blossom!

I am squeezing in a blog post now, before I discover, time has whizzed by without me blogging and it's Winter!

So welcome Spring!

Our area looks so pretty with all the flowers blooming. I took my Dragonsquatch for a walk today and found a beautiful pink blossom tree on the street. Unfortunately it was windy, and taking photos with the Dragonsquatch posing between the delightfully pink flowers, was proving difficult. However, I managed to get a couple of snaps.

I've been feeling a bit out of sorts lately... The works on our house is never ending, but I'm not gonna get in to that right now.

This post is all about my little photoshoot with the Dragonsqautch and the prettiest blossom tree I've found so far!

It was wonderful to go outside the house and enjoy the Spring sunshine! Today I had a good day!!!!

On my way home, I saw my new friend. This is the second time we have met. I have never seen a cat like this before. Perhaps a mix of Siamese?

Dressing up the Sasquatches

I love costume parties! It is just the combination of wearing something you would not normally wear and having to design a costume!  So, I guess it was only inevitable the Sukis should be dressed up too.

The Sasquatches are the first victims. :)

A friend asked me to make something to do with the sea for his girlfriend. At first, I was goign to make a crab donut, but after doing a sketch, I was not convinced that the design would work. After some thinking, the idea of dressing up something as a lobster came to mind and after a sketch, a Lobsquatch was born!

This may be the start of many Sasquatches being dressed in ridiculous outfits!

Lobsquatch

Today was the first day I started sewing since we returned from holiday on Monday.

I started the day with admiring some of the fabrics I bought in Vancouver. I just love this frosted pink fur, and the green one with blue tips!

Unfortunately, with limited suitcase space, I took only half a meter of each of these. Now I wish I had gone for a meter of each. If my calculations are correct, I should be cable to make 5 Sasquatches in each colour. Booooo.... :(

The top three fabrics are designed by my friend, Georgina, in LA.  I was lucky to steal some from her. They are just lovely!!!

Georgina and Iki kindly let us stay with them during out time in LA. There is so much to report on about our two week sin California, I do not even know where to begin! Will have to tackle that another day, in multiple parts, I think!

After some fabric prepping, to get back in the swing of things, I decided to try out something new. A Sasquatch in a lobster costume. I like to call this mixture, a Lobsquatch! :D

For the first attempt, I think he turned out well, although I would like to add a couple of extra details to the next batch.

Now I'm hooked on playing dress-up with the Sasquatches and cannot wait to start making other costumes for them! My brain is exploding with different costumes ideas!!!

Custom Fox Donut

My customer, Louise requested a Fox Donut. She could not decide between the large or giant size. In the end she asked to have one in between, 55cm. I had not made a furry donut of this size before, so it was certainly challenging!

I managed to finish the donut today while there was still light outside. As long as Naomi is dressed, she always agrees to be my model. It had just finished raining but we grabbed an umbrella anyways.

This will be the first really big Suki that will be posted! That is gonna be fun!

Baby Sasquatches

Baby Suki Sasquatches

Last week I was busy making these furry little ones. Yesterday, I listed them up on Etsy, one boy and 4 little girls. They were snapped up right away!

Baby Suki Sasquatch

Today I packed them all up and sent them off to their new homes.

As soon as I find more brown fabric, more red Sasquatches will be made. I do not like choosing favourites, but I think he might be my favourite.

Little baby boy Sasquatch

Here is the little boy Sasquatch with his nappy ready for his journey to his new home.

I put nappies on them just for taking photos, but everyone liked them so much I had to include them too! :)

A new batch of babies will be coming soon...

The Werebear Donut

There is a new addition to the Dark Donut Series!

I began by making a Bear Donut. Once she was complete, the Werewolf  Donut bit her and she turned instantly into a Werebear Donut!!! Now she will carry the curse of the Werebear forever...

Hiii! I'm awake at 7am!
Ooh!! Why am I awake at 7am??!!

A very happy Werewolf Donut with his new companion.

TA DAaaa!!!

It's always a relief once these furry creatures are finished. It is crazy how much mess is made from the fur!!! I have to hoover about a million times!

Me with my Werebear and Werewolf Donuts

Even though these are a pain to make, I have to say that these fluffy donuts do make me smile. Let there be many more fluffy donuts to come! :)

Werewolf Donut

My new favourite donut

A new addition to the Dark Donut Series! The Werewolf Donut!

This Donut was placed under a curse. He still maintains some physical traits of a donut but posses super-donut strength and senses beyond those of wolves and donuts. They are extremely rare and love nothing more than cuddles and a scratch behind the ears. But beware of him during a full moon!!!! :)

Vampire, Werewolf and Devil Donuts

The fur is really lovely and soft but when this fabric is cut there are a million hairs EVERYWHERE!!! Arrrgghhh! It really is horrible!!! I must have hoovered a million times just to control the hair mess from cutting. And there was a lot of cutting!

I was undecided about the colour of the ears, wondered if they should be pink, white or grey. Francesco suggested to make them green to match with the eyes. I was worried the green ears would look strange. After some doubting, I decided that green might be a good choice after all and it was! Good call Francesco! :)
