Lobsquatch
Today was the first day I started sewing since we returned from holiday on Monday.
I started the day with admiring some of the fabrics I bought in Vancouver. I just love this frosted pink fur, and the green one with blue tips!
Unfortunately, with limited suitcase space, I took only half a meter of each of these. Now I wish I had gone for a meter of each. If my calculations are correct, I should be cable to make 5 Sasquatches in each colour. Booooo.... :(
The top three fabrics are designed by my friend, Georgina, in LA. I was lucky to steal some from her. They are just lovely!!!
Georgina and Iki kindly let us stay with them during out time in LA. There is so much to report on about our two week sin California, I do not even know where to begin! Will have to tackle that another day, in multiple parts, I think!
After some fabric prepping, to get back in the swing of things, I decided to try out something new. A Sasquatch in a lobster costume. I like to call this mixture, a Lobsquatch! :D
For the first attempt, I think he turned out well, although I would like to add a couple of extra details to the next batch.
Now I'm hooked on playing dress-up with the Sasquatches and cannot wait to start making other costumes for them! My brain is exploding with different costumes ideas!!!

Last week I was busy making these furry little ones. Yesterday, I listed them up on Etsy, one boy and 4 little girls. They were snapped up right away!

Here is the little boy Sasquatch with his nappy ready for his journey to his new home.
I put nappies on them just for taking photos, but everyone liked them so much I had to include them too! :)

She comes with all 6 fingers and all 6 toes!
After the second attempt at a another Sasquatch, I am happy with this one. I just wish working with fur did not drive me so nuts!

There are quite a few seperate parts - mouth, teeth, ears, hands, fingers, feet, toes.... she's a fiddly little bugger!

But she is quite adorable! :)
Today was a bad sewing day... I have been working on making more of these little babies, however I am struggling to make them look like this one. It's tricky getting all the different parts right! Tomorrow I will take a break from them and do something else. I hope to have some available soon.

Everytime I work with these kink of furry fabrics I always complain, and yet I still cannot resist buying them and trying out new things. It is nightmere! Fur everywhere, all over me, all over the carpet... it just gets EVERYWHERE!
This little fella was made yesterday. When I began to remember how much fur drives me nuts, I almost stopped after making the head.
This design needs some tweaking. For starters, he needs feet. Little sticky out feet.
I cannot bring myself to go through all that mess again for now... especially now I can only work in the bedroom.

Squakkio, the Baby Sasquatch
I decided to finally make something with the lovely white faux fur I bought in Derby when I met up with Vanessa.
I started with some sketches and made my first baby Sasquatch.
The fur was a nightmare to cut! There were tons of hairs everywhere, every time i cut the fabric! I went to the balcony to cut. It was a really sunny and I was also getting warm from all the hard work, and the fur was sticking to my sweaty forearms. There were white hairs also allover my clothes and the best part was then i got hairs got into my eyes and onto my contact lenses! It was a furry nightmare!!!!
